Zulu pottery- tall vase

Description

Zulu pottery is made of a clay called ibumba, which is  dug out of the ground and left to dry in the sun. It is then ground in a mortar and passed through a sieve to remove stones. The traditional ukhamba pots are made of dried fine clay, but the bigger pots are mixed together with other types of clay to ensure they are more solid.
